The coins of Croesus were the first bi-metallic coinage of the Greek world. Coins show a lion and bull facing off on the obverse and an incuse on the reverse. The whole series of Croesus starts with heavy gold staters of more than 10 grams and go down to a 1/96th stater at a mere 0.13 or less grams. The series is in both silver and gold.
